Website Design
crafting an online space that reflects you, in every way

Every business, new or established, needs a home online. Your website is your online business card and it should work as hard as you do to stand apart from everyone else’s. Sure, it’s easy enough to DIY something on your own, but do you really want to end up with something that’s “good enough” or a site that “works for now?”
And what about all those extra features like responsive design, custom forms, email marketing integration and standout photography? (yes, you need all of these in order to stand out from your competition!)
What you need is a web designer that gets you and your business needs. Let me do the heavy lifting for you. I’ve spent years honing my ability to bring your visions to life (in 2 dimensions, of course). Together, we’ll work to create a site you’ll love.
curious about the process?
So how does this whole website process work? Here’s what you can expect if you decide we might work together.
01.
Initial Consultation The first step is to set up a complimentary initial consultation to ensure we’re a good fit. This can be done via phone, email, Skype or in person (if you’re local to Southern California), whichever you are most comfortable with. We’ll talk about your project, your vision, your ideas, goals, timeline and budget so I can get an overall feel for your needs and desires. I’ll send you a quote and a projected timeline within 3 days of our call. Once you’ve reviewed and approved it, we move to the next step.
02.
Reserve your spot After we connect and you’ve decided to move forward with me, you’ll receive a formal contract and a 50% deposit will be collected to hold your spot.
03.
Client Questionnaire You’ll receive a link to my questionnaire, with several questions related to your vision of the project. Your answers allow me to get inside your head to deliver a site that is not only functional, but reflects who you are.
04.
Content Prep During this phase, you’ll send me all of your brand elements, logos, colors and fonts that you’ve been using, photos and graphics, and any other collateral materials that might be helpful to me to get a feel for your (established) brand identity. The more you send me at the outset, the easier the process will be!
05.
Inspiration Board This is where we get to play a little! Using Pinterest, you’ll contribute to a board of big ideas, collecting anything that communicates the graphic vision you have for your site, from photos to type, to web themes and other inspirational images. This provides me with a basis for the look and feel your site will have. Anything goes here, so have some fun!
06.
Web Planning Phase The web work begins! We’ll begin with wireframes for a well-designed user experience and then compile a copy outline and photo list so you can begin gathering content. (And our SEO experts will conduct your keyword research.) *Website copywriting and stock photography at an additional cost.
07.
Design Phase Once I’ve received your content, I’ll begin designing a mockup (beginning with the homepage) and a few interior pages, which you can then review and send me any revisions you have before moving on to….
08.
The Development Phase Once you’ve fallen in love with the design and layout of your site, I’ll begin the coding process. The basic structure of your site will be available for testing within 2-4 weeks after concept approval (depending on project scope). You’ll receive a link to a staging site which will only be visible to you.
09.
Testing + Revision Phase Once the development site is complete, we’ll go through one last look and make any minor revisions and I’ll ensure everything if working properly on a variety of devices.
10.
Final Invoice + Go Live! Your final payment will be required after the site has been developed and tested, and is prepped to go live. Upon receipt of final payment, your site will be transferred to you and launched! Time to celebrate!
11.
And Beyond…. So, you’re live! But I won’t leave you hanging. I’ll walk you through the basics of managing and maintaining your new site, and provide you with options to continue working together.
Still wondering how I can help you and your business?
Let’s talk about it! I’d love to connect with you and find out about your needs and ideas.
