About me
80s music freak, avid memory keeper, lover of the color orange
Hey! Have we met before?
“I feel like I’ve known you for years!”
I’ve had many people tell me this after talking to me for just a little while, and it always makes me smile. But, just in case we haven’t met yet…here’s a little about me. Because you already know what I do, here’s a little about who I am.
I’m Cindy, and I’m the visionary behind Shift-Click Creative Services. I’m a veteran digital production professional and a self-professed tech geek. A creative entrepreneur who ditched the 9-to-5 to pursue a dream of living life on my terms, doing what I love – all the behind the scenes work that makes a successful business run. Sounds glamorous, right? Maybe not for some, but it’s my passion.
Midwest-born and raised, I’m the only child of parents who were in the medical field. So it was perfectly natural for me to head to art school! I started my creative education studying advertising design and earned a degree in Graphic Communications, where I put that to good use in art director positions at a couple of ad agencies in Chicago.
After relocating to the West Coast (and fully embracing the warmer climate), I transitioned into a production role at a magazine publishing company, producing food and natural supplement publications. I spent many happy years there amassing skills and learning from my peers, but always had something going on the side: a kids’ t-shirt startup company, a personal blog, a food blog, a fitness and wellness side gig…the corporate world was clearly grooming me to take the leap and become a full-on entrepreneur.
So here I am, doing all the fun parts of my various jobs, building my own brand in the process. No two days are the same for me – I adore learning new things and get giddy when I add a new skill to my techie arsenal. My days are spent solving creative problems for amazing clients and helping make their businesses run smoother and more beautifully. I’m basically just over here living the dream.
And when I’m not at my computer? Well, you might find me organizing my closets, unplugging completely by camping with my husband and 2 girls, or cooking up something yummy in my kitchen.

fun facts about me
+ I often decide what restaurant to go to for breakfast based on how good the coffee is. (if you’re ever in SoCal, Two Guns is my current favorite. Two words: The Stan-wich)
+ I can’t begin to cook unless the entire kitchen is clean.
+ I’m an introvert and a dyed-in-the-wool Gemini.
+ I just about died when the all-80s radio station became a thing back in the 90s. #heaven
+ I also like smooth jazz. Don’t judge.
+ I can trace back the moment I first knew I wanted to have a career in the visual arts. It was when I first saw this video. I still love the look of it.
+ My current obsession is true crime podcasts. I just can’t get enough of them. #dirtyjohn or #casefile anyone?
+ I met my husband 10 years after college at a wedding, even though we went to the same school and had some of the same friends. We somehow never crossed paths at school.
+ I watch webinars on new software for fun.
+ I nerd out over a well-designed spreadsheet.
+ I research blog posts on which SEO plug in is better and why, because the learning never stops for me. And I find every word of it as interesting and engrossing as a NYT bestseller. #completegeek
+ Cardio vs. strength training? Put me down for cardio.
what's in a name?
Wondering how Shift-Click Creative got its name? On a computer, shift-clicking is the method used to highlight or select more than one item, as opposed to simply clicking, which only selects one thing. In my life, both personally and professionally, I’m constantly learning, growing, adding to my skill set. Shift-Click Creative’s name represents that idea – that the learning never stops. As my business and I grow, so do my offerings, allowing me to add additional value to each business I help.
